The group employs over 800 people across various business segments. UTV is an Indian Group with truly global operations. It is headquartered in Mumbai, India with offices in UK, USA and Japan. The Company operates across cultures and geographies through subsidiaries and strategic investments in all major global markets. In addition to its domestic Indian operations, UTV has also made foray into producing mainstream Hollywood films. UTV’s gaming subsidiaries Ignition, True Games and Indiagames, have operations across North America, UK, Japan and parts of Europe as its major markets and distributes/ syndicate its gaming content in all gaming markets worldwide. UTV is publicly listed on the stock exchanges in India (The Stock Exchange, Mumbai and the National Stock Exchange).

Being one of the pioneers, having started 15 years ago, UTV has successfully demonstrated producing content in multi genre, multi –lingual and multi channel capabilities across Asia including the latest hit television show Dance India Dance on Zee TV.
Movies

UTV Motion Pictures is one of the largest movie studios in South Asia. UTVMP has been a catalyst in corporatizing the Indian system of movie making by pioneering the Studio Model in the country. It has emerged as a strong player in Indian cinema with the success of movies like 'Rang De Basanti', 'Khosla Ka Ghosla', 'Life in a... Metro', 'The Namesake' ‘Jodhaa Akbar’, Fashion’, ’Oye Lucky!Lucky Oye!’ , ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’, ’Fashion’ & ‘A Wednesday’. Further under the UTV Spot Boy banner UTV has delivered some critically acclaimed films like ‘Aamir’, ‘Welcome To Sajjanpur’ & very recently ‘Dev D’. On International platform too with 'I Think I Love My Wife' & ‘The Happening’.

The studio has also amongst the top Indian distributors in US, having distributed movies like Aamir Khan' prouductions’ 'Taare Zameen Par', Tips Industries’ 'Race' in the international and domestic markets. The company is set for a busy 2009 with a bullish slate of over 15 movies for the year. Having started the year with one of its biggest release, D6, UTVMP’s forthcoming releases include David Dhavan’s Hook Ya Crook, Vishal Bhardwaj’s Kaminey, Ashutosh Gowarikar’s WHATS YOUR RAASHI and many more.
Broadcasting UTV Global Broadcasting Ltd (UGBL), the broadcast arm of UTV Software Communications Ltd, launched  a bouquet of 4 specialized channels in a duration 7 months. UGBL also has a distribution platform through which these channels are distributed besides being available on Tata Sky, Sun Direct.
Gaming UTV applies the proven 360˚ approach that has made it successful in the movie business to its initiatives in the interactive domain of gaming. It already acquired majority stakes in three gaming companies – UK based Ignition Entertainment a console games developer & publisher, True Games for Online games & Indiagames, India’s largest publisher of mobile games, making UTV a strong player in the gaming arena.
New Media UTV New Media Ltd., the digital arm of UTV, which officially came into our fold since May 2008, addresses digital space in domains such as business, finance, entertainment (TV, films, music), gadgets and technology. The Company has put together capabilities to deliver content for user specific device. Youth have always been the primary target group of the Company and this focus is reiterated by the Company’s focus on two devices that command most attention of the youth - the computer and the handset. One of its recent achievements includes the launch of UTV@play - India’s first exclusive music video channel on Mobile TV.
