Job Description Create innovative and cutting edge visual effects utilizing 3d, 2d, and compositing skills in Unreal Engine 3. Work with the Technical Art Director, Design Team and other artists to transition from concepts and reference material to finalized in-game effects. Collaborate with peers on placement, implementation and optimization of effects throughout levels and cinematics. Prototype visual effect concepts for gameplay and engine features. Work quickly to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
Salary $50,000 - $90,000, Depending on experience and ability

Work Hours Typical expectations are to work 10 hours a day Monday through Friday, though this may vary, depending on work assignments.

Required characteristics (/skills and abilities etc) Experience in material, shader, and effects creation in Unreal Engine 3. High-level understanding of rendering, passes, vertex and pixel shaders. Practical working knowledge of visual effects and compositing principles in 2d and 3d. Passionate and interested in the visual effects field at large. Proficient in 3DSMAX or Maya for modeling, and Photoshop for painting and editing textures. Strong theatrical artistic ability (composition, color, form and space, motion, lighting, etc). Technically savvy, able to learn new concepts, tools, and techniques quickly. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Knowledge of other game art disciplines including animation, modeling, lighting, rendering, and texturing. Relevant industry experience shipping titles for Playstation 3, PC, Xbox, Xbox 360, etc. Film or TV vfx background a plus. Experience with deferred rendering a huge plus. Must play games regularly!
